We know we say it often, but it was truly, truly, such an honor to plan and design such an immersive, highly personal wedding day with these two. We had so much fun together!
From the moment she reached out, McKenna highlighted that her and Ryan’s furbaby, Daisy, needed to be the highlight of their special day. As we got to know this adorable family and their likes and dislikes, it also quickly became apparent that their wedding design was going to be anything but “typical.” McKenna positively radiates energy and happiness, so we knew from the start that bold, bright tones needed to be at the forefront (along with nods to Miss Daisy, of course). Once the concept of McKenna & Ryan’s wedding flowers entered the chat, well, we knew this day was going to unfold in only the quirkiest-yet-stylish of ways!
With the help of the flower sorceress herself, Ariyl and her amazing team at Briar Loft helped to achieve McKenna’s incredible vision of “standing in a field of Dr. Seuss flowers.” Seeing her, Ryan and Daisy tucked among the allium, bougainvillea and fabulous color blocking was definitely a designer’s dream come true! After their wonderfully heartfelt vows (presided over by the lovely Koru Ceremony) were complete, McKenna, Ryan and Daisy greeted their guests at the bar, while our teams flipped the space from a gorgeous ceremony to a funky-yet-chic dinner reception! We loved including some non-traditional restaurant lighting, unexpected linen choices and quirky menus, and were, of course, blown away by the delicious dinner by Heritage Catering that ensued.
Once the evening was well underway, our team oversaw the flipping of Daisy’s “Koozie display” to a late-night snack wall featuring one of Ryan’s absolute favorites… Taco Bell! We stocked the shelves with Doritos Locos and Soft Supreme tacos, swapped the wording to encourage McKenna and Ryan’s guests to “LOVE MAS,” and let the party really get down to business!
