Writing today about Martha & Jonathan feels as though I’m writing about old friends – these two are just such warm, inviting people. The planning for Martha & Jonathan’s Romantic Madison Club Wedding began early on. They were very proactive and booked us well over two years before their wedding day, so we had lots of time to get to know one another.
Martha & Jonathan embody that warm and fuzzy kind of love – they grew up together and rekindled their relationship as adults, and by the way Jonathan looks at her, you can tell their history goes way back. Early on in the planning process, Martha described to us that she simply wanted a day that epitomized romance – in the flowers, in the tones, in the textures and in the overall guest experience. So, epitomize romance we did!
I absolutely adored working within the slate blue and iris color palette we came up with – it was such a lovely grouping for a high summer wedding, and perfectly blended with the architecture of the spaces within the Madison Club! We kept all of the invitations and paper goods very traditional as well, and Coqui Paperie beautifully embodied Martha’s traditional southern roots with a gorgeous calligraphed monogram that was repeated throughout the invitations as well as the day-of goods.
Speaking of roots, I cannot fully describe the day without making mention of Martha & Jonathan’s beautiful families and their very clear love for one another. Martha wore vintage jewelry from her grandmother, Dixie, who also played an important role in both the ceremony and reception. Jonathan’s brothers were SUCH compassionate hype-men for him and his new bride the entire day – bringing them waters, exchanging hugs, and ensuring the dance floor stayed packed the entire party!
Martha & Jonathan, thank you, once again, for allowing Elevate to play such an important role in planning and designing your day. It was a pleasure and privilege to bring your dream day to life!
