We’ll be honest, when we opened the email asking if we were available to assist with a wedding at Whistling Straits, our jaws nearly hit the floor. Not only is this one of the nation’s most sought-after golf courses, sitting on the shores of Lake Michigan and built to resemble the Scottish countryside, it is also a perfectly picturesque wedding venue!
To say we were excited to meet Monica and Stephen and visit this iconic destination is a serious understatement, but quite honestly, when we think back to our time there, it’s Monica’s easy-going and trusting personality, Stephen’s silly but sincere demeanor, and the way their day put FAMILY in the forefront that really stands out to us. The rest, while stunning in its own right, was simply the icing on the cake.
Monica’s vision of a crisp, colorful summer wedding came together seamlessly (thanks to some incredibly talented vendors!), and perfectly reflected the classy elegance of both the venue itself, as well as the two families coming together as one. Add in those GORGEOUS pops of teal in the bridesmaid dresses and the “Monica” gown (really, that’s what Monica’s wedding dress was called!) from BHLDN, beautiful floral work by the team at Kohler, and elegant, classic decor under a beautiful clear top tent, and it’s easy to see how effortlessly this gorgeous day came together.
Frankly, we think these photos speak for themselves – Monica and Stephen’s celebration was filled with style, class, family, and so, SO much love – everything a wedding day should be and more.
