Throughout the entire planning process, Laura and Andrew and their families exemplified grace, elegance, class, and tradition. As we finalized the plans for their downtown-Madison wedding, it was imperative that we all worked to infuse these values into one timeless, traditional, and gorgeous day, complete with an elegant infusion of summery coral tones over a classic black-and-white palette. And what a day it was!
Working within the already iconic backdrops of the Grace Episcopal Church and Overture Center in downtown Madison, we thoroughly enjoyed helping L&A bring their beautiful vision to life. Laura remained inspired by the architecture of both spaces, opting for crisp black and white linens, clear acrylic chairs, unfussy paper goods and signage, and an elegant incorporation of greenery to show off the impressive staircase and iconic red doors of the church, paired with crisp and summery corals and pinks within her centerpieces and bouquets.
You wouldn’t even know it in scrolling through their gallery, but Laura & Andrew dealt with some pretty heavy blows leading up to their big day. For anyone in Madison, you’ll be sure to remember the massive explosion at our downtown power company, which caused a multi-day power outage of the entire downtown, just TWO DAYS before their wedding! Thanks to the quick thinking of the Overture Center and Fresco catering staff, however, the food was saved and comfortable temperatures were able to be restored just in time for guest arrival! To top it off, Laura learned that a tornado had blown through her parents’ hometown the night prior, and their garage (though thankfully nothing more) was completely totaled by felled trees! Nevertheless, these two were absolute CHAMPS throughout the entire ordeal, and managed to reach such a beautiful level of calm on their wedding day, despite all of the chaotic news. Proof that love conquers all. 🙂
