When Goa, India no longer became an option for the wedding celebration, Saurabh and Murrel decided to bring Goa to Madison, Wisconsin. With a quick turnaround until Saurabh & Murrel’s Elegant India-Inspired Wedding Day, we got right to work on translating S & M’s dreams of an Indian night market, rich with plenty of lights, food, and dancing, into a reality. After the two spent their mornings with close friends and loved ones, they came together at Blessed Sacrament Church. Prior to the ceremony, Saurabh and his crew paraded into the Church by way of a Baraat, a celebratory wedding procession for the groom involving live music and dancing. Between the colorful and traditional saris and lehengas to the beat of the dhol by Arpit , it was a lively start to the afternoon and evening of celebration. The ceremony incorporated a “jaimala,” an Indian wedding ritual in which the bride and groom exchange flower garlands around their necks. Guests reconvened at Garver Feed Mill for cocktails, dinner and dancing. S&M wanted their guests to be able to experience food from all around the world, while also keeping the flow interactive. With a variety of food stations ranging from authentic Indian cuisine courtesy of Swagat, to Isreali, Vietnamese/Thai, and Szechuan/Chinese inspired dishes served by Garver Catering, the dinner experience was so unique and tasteful.
Dancing is a pillar in Saurabh and Murrel’s relationship and so it was only fitting that for those family and friends abroad who were not able to attend, to surprise the couple with video snippets of recorded dancing videos, and for their bridesmaids and groomsmen to put together a choreographed dance turned flash mob with more guests! It was so fun to witness all of the jovial entertainment throughout the evening and a true honor to be completely trusted in pulling off a dynamic event such as this one. We wish S & M the absolute best in their future life adventures and hope you enjoy some of our favorite images of Saurabh & Murrel’s Elegant India-Inspired Wedding Day!
