Ahhh, 2021. You were totally weird and you completely beat us up. You kept us guessing and you forced us to prioritize. And when the going got tough, we all turned right back around with a determination we never truly knew, and showed YOU who’s boss.
And while 2021 was, without a doubt, the year of resilience and rolling with the punches, we also must acknowledge that, underneath it all, there was also a nearly constant undercurrent of disappointment and heartache. To those who powered through the pain: we see you and we recognize absolutely every emotion you experienced, because we did too.
This year was also the busiest event season our team has ever faced, and quite honestly, one of the most bewildering years in the life of our business. We traveled farther, pushed ourselves to outside of what felt comfortable, re-evaluated and re-prioritized, experienced loss and moments of pure euphoria. In sum, what we said at the end of 2020 still rings just as true this year: “it has been a wild year, to say the least, but it has also been one we may look back on, dare we say… fondly?”
Below, we’re recapping some of the highs, lows, and major moments the year brought us.
Firstly, we planned, designed and executed some of THE most intimate, beautiful and highly personalized events of our careers, and it was truly SUCH an honor to do so. The trust and flexibility our clients showed us this year was unparalleled, and allowed us to pull off some ideas and visions that were the stuff of dreams.
We brought on additional teammates and honed in even further on all of our internal processes. In working with a fairly large team, we’ve undergone significant efforts to create (and follow) clear procedures and checklists, hold regular meetings, and make delegating and collaborating a pillar of our business. There’s still much that doesn’t feel perfect, but in looking back, we are so proud of what we’ve created and how we operate. (Our team is also just…really really great, so that helps too.)
We also experienced some pretty incredible growth as people, too:
- We welcomed babies!! (Hi Blair, Camellia, and Lachlan!)
- Some of us started regular therapy and learned to prioritize what truly matters
- We celebrated in all of the ways that we could: new homes, lots of low-key but memorable birthdays, and a few engagements sprinkled in there, too!
We also traveled (when we could), and participated in weddings in South Carolina, Guatemala, and Chicago, to name a few! Where will our amazing clients take us next!?
Did we mention how amazing our team was through it all? Each one of these amazing women showed up and stepped up like none other. There is absolutely NO way we could have gotten through this year without each and every single one of them (we love you, ladies!)
And finally, as the fun little cherry on top, we took home the honor of being named “Best All Around Wedding Vendor” for Wisconsin Bride Magazine’s “Best Of 2021” Awards!! As a write-in category, it was a true testament to all of the amazing support we get to enjoy through all of YOU! Thank you for the incredible honor.
While there have been many conversations with others wondering how we’re already approaching 2022 when we still feel like we’re processing 2020, looking back, it has truly been one of the most fruitful years of our lives, both personally and professionally. Our wish for you is that next year brings you whatever it is you may be searching, earning, or craving for, and finding in acceptance and peace in all you do have.
Speaking of what we have, what a beautiful way to bring this post full circle than reminding us of the truly remarkable community we have in YOU! Truly, thank you, THANK YOU for your incredible support through this tough year, and always. Every single share, like, view, and email opening of yours that you do for us only continues to set our hearts on fire. We LOVE what we get to do, and it’s you, our beautiful community, who challenge us to keep showing up, creating, and telling the stories that deserve to be told, day in and day out.
Happy New Year! Thank you for being here.
