Wednesday, October 21st of 2020 marked a special day for Ellie & Dom. It wasn’t just any Wednesday. It was 70 years to the day that Ellie’s grandparents, whom she shared a very close relationship with, would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. To commemorate, Ellie and Dom got married with 14 of their closest family members and friends there to witness and celebrate.
It was a chilly, overcast day at Maple Bluff Country Club, but just warm enough to be able to host an outdoor gathering. With a quaint ceremony set up on the tee box overlooking the beautiful golf course, Ellie and Dom shared their heartfelt vows. Additional family and friends tuned in over Zoom, and it was arguably one of top 3 most intimate ceremonies we have been a part of.
Guests transitioned to the balcony that overlooks the beautiful State Capitol for dinner and dancing. With the help of Chance Productions and daffodil*parker, we created an Italian al fresco atmosphere, adorned with greenery and cafe lights in the ceiling, and modern pendants placed over the sweetheart table. The classy jewel tones in the flowers popped against neutral tablecloths and chairs. With a smaller guest count like E & D had, we had the flexibility to truly customize the space and create a personal layout where everyone felt close-knit and cozy. Each guest had the opportunity to order their own meal selection – one perk of having a small guest count! We were able to create so many personal touches and details, like the signature cocktail drink called “The Gramski” in honor of Ellie’s grandma Norma (who mistakenly drank one too many screwdrivers at a wedding many years back!) and the personal love notes written by Ellie and Dom placed at each of their guest’s spots at their table.
Ellie and Dom wrapped up the evening dancing with their loved ones under the dimmed lights and patio heaters. It was charming, it was sweet, and it was so perfectly memorable. We could not be happier for you, Ellie & Dom!
