Julianne & Albert's Intimate Backyard Summer Soiree

Julianne and Albert were another of our strong-willed, determined couples who completely pivoted their wedding plans due to COVID-19, and boy did we pivot! Originally, J&A were planning to say their vows inside an industrial-chic venue on the East Side of Madison, but once it became apparent that gathering indoors with 150+ of their closest family and friends was far from attainable, we had some difficult conversations and instead completely shifted their plans to Julianne’s parents’ backyard in suburban Illinois!

Now, we may be biased, but having the chance to transform our bride’s childhood home into a beautiful, intimate backyard summer soiree was music to our ears. Thanks to a top-notch team of vendors, a little bit of flexibility, and a whole lot of creativity, we were able to create a stunning (and safe!) affair for fifty of Julianne and Albert’s closest family and friends.

Thankfully, translating their custom design from an industrial building to a backyard was relatively seamless, thanks to a beautiful design blueprint dreamed up by Julianne & Mallory and wonderfully executed by the team. Julianne had always envisioned her day surrounding a soft pastel palette – starting with the dreamy dusty blue of her best gal’s dresses. From there, we incorporated additional soft pastel florals to complement, warm wood tones in a grand King’s table, a wonderfully romantic arbor draped in greenery, and classic chargers, taper candles and paper details.

Apart from the gorgeous design, the most beautiful aspect of this intimate backyard summer soiree was, by far, seeing J&A surrounded by so much love and support. Mrs. and Mrs. Zygmunt, we are SO happy you were able to say your vows, albeit much different than anticipated, and it was such an incredible honor to bring your day to fruition surrounded by those who love you most.
