For many years, I’ve held on to the vision of a beautiful, intimate tablescape set in the middle of a gorgeous field of flowers. Given the sudden shift to smaller, outdoor events this year, I presented the idea to Autumn Silva Photography, and she thankfully was right there with me!
Together, we dreamed up the concept of an ethereal, light and airy picnic vibe, with a mix of earthy and subtle lilac hues. In considering the place where we could pull off the vision, the answer came to us easily – the incredible flower farm at Sunborn Gardens would make the perfect backdrop! Lisa was immediately on board and thrilled to show off all of her hard work in the gardens. If you haven’t had a chance to visit, I highly recommend it – Sunborn Gardens is truly a dreamy location that could not have been more fitting for the airy inspiration shoot we had planned!
The focus was on an intimate picnic-style dinner between a bride and groom. Details were kept simple to bring the flowers to the forefront of the inspiration. Lisa had several locations on her property that were absolutely stunning, but we ultimately choose a cozy spot in the woods to set up our upscale picnic. Our bride and groom snacked on charcuterie, sipped champagne, and sampled the delicious (and beautiful) cake! The tablescape was set among rows of colorful flowers which perfectly evoked the tones of the season. Lisa had a vintage wood table and chairs onsite and Autumn perfectly captured the magical essence of a private dinner for the bride and groom and their guests. As the day came to a close, we could not pass up the opportunity to capture some gorgeous bridal portraits in the greenhouse! The abundance of flowers surrounding the bride perfectly highlighted her natural beauty.
Our bride model, Rachel, emanated a glow that fit perfectly into the overall style of the shoot. Her softness was an ideal pairing with the sleek and sophisticated Sarah Seven dress that she wore. The simple dress and ankle booties leaned casual yet polished – which resulted in a wonderful balance of styles. And let’s talk about that “smize” – Rachel brought the energy in the best way possible!
I absolutely love how this collaboration and vision seamlessly came together – sometimes, an “effortless” look can be just that! As we begin our Midwestern transition into fall, enjoy this reminder of the warmer temperatures, sunshine, and the beautiful summer blooms we are lucky to be surrounded by!
