Roll with us on this one: If our world was one big sky, and everyone in it was a floating cloud, Annie would be the perfectly fluffy, pink cloud peeking out from behind the sun, shooting endless beams of warmth on the world below. She is so special, so warm, and casts such a lovely glow on everyone who comes in contact with her.
We immediately felt that warmth from the very first moment we began talking to Annie. She let us in, confessing that she honestly never envisioned having a large wedding day, and instead realized that she had only thought about the man she would marry. She knew that he would be kind, drive a Jeep, and enjoy the outdoors. Luckily, Hans perfectly fits the bill. 🙂 She didn’t know what kind of dress she would wear, what flowers she envisioned, but her and Hans were very specific on the feel they wanted to achieve:
“We want things to feel like we just invited guests over to our house and we’re hanging out in our living room, feeling cozy, catching up, sharing memories. We kind of want the decorations for the reception to feel like a cozy living room.”
Well, it doesn’t take much searching through April’s masterful capture of Annie and Hans’ days to see that their goal of a cozy, inviting fall wedding certainly was achieved!
We focused on warm, natural tones like the burnt orange and taupe that Annie was already naturally drawn to, paired those tones with Jamae’s simple and soft floral and greenery, and made sure to use LOTS of candles and wood notes to bring in the welcoming feeling they hoped to achieve. Each member of Annie’s large family baked a special, homemade pie to add to the dessert bar so expertly styled by her Aunt, and guests were welcomed to fresh honey and encouraged to sign pieces of a future quilt to be built for the newlyweds.
But, all of the planning and execution in the world couldn’t compare to how stunning Annie looked in her two-piece gown by Flora Bridal, and how truly taken Hans was with his beautiful bride.
Looking back on that day, we remember feeling SO much love and warmth emanating from Annie, Hans and their lovely families. We know we say this often, but we can’t believe we are so lucky to work for such amazing people. Anna and Hans, THANK YOU for allowing us to be a part of the wedding you never knew you wanted. We hope it was all you dreamed of and more. Enjoy the deep wilderness of Montana, you two!
