This wedding tears at all the right heartstrings. So much feeling, so much love, so much beauty, so much FUN. Alex and Becca are dear, dear friends of Mallory’s (her husband, Danny, grew up with Alex) and have also become good friends of Kirstie’s throughout the years as well. We absolutely LOVE planning for friends, but when we also are lucky enough to have clients as gracious and beautiful as Alex and Becca, well, we’re just so, so honored to have been able to help plan their phenomenal wedding day!
Alex and Becca’s day took place at the Central Madison Public Library, a gorgeous new space with TONS of light and a magnificent view of the city. We knew from the get-go that Becca’s look was going to be vintage-inspired, so we took that idea and ran with it, including vintage library books on each table and a color palette that was modern, yet fit with her red lips and cage veil. 🙂 Becca’s uncle Bryan is a florist, and helped with the gorgeous floral pieces, and to top it all off, bits of waxprint fabric (a nod to Becca’s years spent in Mauritania with the Peace Corps) were used in the centerpieces and on the boutonnieres and bouquets for an extra bit of flair.
As you’ll see in the photos, Alex and Becca’s day was more than vintage beauty and bright, colorful spaces. It was truly INTENTIONAL and meaningful. They had their dog, Odie, walk their rings down the aisle, did contour sketches of each other as their unity piece, and asked good friends and family to sing special songs during a tribute cocktail hour. Becca even surprised Alex with a breathtaking version of “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne on the blue ukelele he got her for Christmas!! And you know we love surprise songs here at Elevate – Mallory surprised Danny with a song at their wedding, too! (Speaking of Danny – check out that hunky groomsman!)
Lex and Bex, you two are something else. Thank you for believing in us and our vision, and for being such amazing friends and people. Cheers to many, many years of smiles, hugs, and ukelele strumming. We love you!
