1. Metallic Muse
It’s no secret that golds, sequins, champagne and silver accents have already come in hot on the wedding scene, but this year we’re totally into the “vintage” metals – copper, brass and even tin! These, when paired with rich floral tones and luxe linens, can add wonderful depth and visual interest to your centerpieces and table settings. Check out A La Crate’s brand new brass table numbers and Event Essentials’ lovely gold flatware for a few ways to incorporate this trend into your wedding!
2. Pastel Palettes
Previous trends used to be all about that “pop of color,” but this year we’re expecting to see much softer palettes (think pistachio, celestial blue, champagnes and whites) with all of the drama brought by the sparkle and accessories. We’re still totally amped about mismatched bridesmaid dresses and think the drama will instead come in the form of sparkle… veils, bridesmaid dresses, and linens, to name a few!
3. Bold Brews & Awesome Apps
Let’s face it, with the rise of delicious craft brews and creative food trucks in the past few years, we’ve all gotten a bit pickier when it comes to what we eat (and drink) with our friends. Now, brides and grooms are finding themselves asking, “Why can’t we have those delectable beers and bites at our wedding, too?!” We’re stoked to see ways in which couples incorporate their favorite stouts, bourbon barrel ales and ciders on the drink menu, and obviously cannot WAIT to see the creative (not to mention – generally budget-friendly) food carts and tasting stations that couples incorporate this year!
4. Gorgeous Greenery
It’s official – succulents are NOT going away this year. Now, even more than ever, brides and florists are finding ways to incorporate beautiful greenery in their centerpieces, bouquets, and even escort cards and boutonnieres! We’re keeping our eyes peeled for eucalyptus garlands, fancy ferns, moss, and even cabbage greenery to freshen things up.
5. Dress for Dinner
Two words: Downton Abbey. Let’s get real, who wouldn’t want to dress in fancy dresses, opera gloves, jewels and tiaras every night for dinner? Granted, this idea is obviously out-of-date for a reason, but white tie dinners, tea-party inspiration, and royal color palettes are all set to make a comeback this wedding season. Think gorgeous garden parties with hats and fascinators, castle and large estate venues, and definitely an incorporation of Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year: Marsala. We may never be royals, but we can certainly pretend!
